A woman from Anhui province finally discovered the cause of her nearly lifelong problem with chronic headaches, in the form of a 4.6-centimeter-long needle that has been lodged inside her skull. The 48-year-old patient surnamed Liu says she has suffered from regular headaches for more than four decades. She paid a visit to a local hospital for a check-up last month after the pain had started to become worse, Anhui Business reports. "My headaches were the worst when it was rainy or cloudy outside," Liu explained. "The pain felt like being punctured by a needle." Liu told reporters that she often visited doctors asking about the problem, but somehow none of them had every discovered the source of the needle-like pain to her skull was an actual needle inside her skull. A CT scan revealed that there was a 4.6-centimeter-long needle stuck in the left side of Liu's skull. The doctor believed that the needle had somehow been lodged there undetected since she was a baby. Doctors suggested an open-brain surgery to take the needle out. Because if not removed, the needle might result in further complications. Better late than never, we guess. Source
