Asthma is very stressful and unpleasant disease and all the people that suffer from asthma know how scary can asthma attack be at times. There are different medications that doctors prescribe to help control asthma attacks but some of these medications often have some undesired side effects. Of course if you have no other solution you will take these medications no matter what but pharmacy isn't the only answer for asthma, there are also some natural cures that can be as effective as medications are, off course without unpleasant side effects.

The first important step would definitely be to avoid all the things that can lead to asthma attack. For instance if you are hypersensitive to dust avoid it as much as possible. But what to do if your breathing suddenly becomes difficult and you start wheezing? In that case good solution would be to drink something that has a lot of caffeine like coffee or strong tea. Many people do not know how caffeine can in many cases help opening up restricted airways, and make breathing less difficult.

There is also the question of the right diet. I would definitely recommend eating fruits and vegetables on a regular basis. Some researches showed that eating fruits and vegetables on regular basis can significantly decrease frequency of asthma attacks, and the fruit that is most effective are apples. This is because apples have lot of fatty acids that are helpful against asthma. The same can be said about fish meat, especially cod and salmon.

Even ancient Egyptians knew how healthy honey is. Honey can also help you reduce the frequency of asthma attacks. What you need to do is drink a bit of honey that is mixed with either milk or water. Experts also suggest that mustard seeds can also be good natural cure against asthma attacks. If you suffer from asthma attack try taking a little mustard oil, mix it with camphor and massage it firmly all over the chest area. Many natural cures can do wonders for you and help reduce the frequency of asthma attacks. It is up to you to find the one that suits you the best. In any case it is always wise to reduce intake of different medications because many medications despite being helpful against certain disease have some rather unpleasant side effects, and if Mother Nature alone can help you make sure to stay with her.
