1. Your parents have no qualms about bringing up bodily functions at the dinner table. 2. There are books with pictures of organs all over the house … 3. When you or one of your friends have a bruise/cut/throbbing pain, you call your parents first before seeing your own doctor. 4. You’ve grown an appreciation for all corny doctor jokes. 5. You got used to your parents diagnosing your friends without them even asking, and now you kind of do it too. 6. Unless you severed a finger, you never went to the doctor, because the doctor lived in your house. 7. But most things could be fixed with tylenol, or ice. (Or so THE DOCTOR told you.) 8. You’re unfazed by medical shows on TV, because you’ve heard more medical stories than you’d like to remember. 9. You were always sick as a kid, because your parents brought it home from the office. 10. If you decided to follow in your parents’ footsteps, then you were THE CHOSEN CHILD.
11. Because becoming anything other than a doctor was considered a sin. 12. You tried calling your parents at some point while they were on call, and this is the response you got. 13. You know what medical gloves are REALLY for. 14. Because of the insane schedules, your parents didn’t really know what a weekend was. 15. You played doctor as a kid, but you had some real deal toys to do it with. 16. When you went to the hospital for something embarrassing, every doctor and nurse knew exactly who you were. 17. Thermometers? No, all your parents had to do was put a hand to your forehead to tell if it was serious. 18. And you were never able to get away with faking sick, BECAUSE YOUR PARENTS KNEW THE TRUTH. 19. You’re always really proud to tell other people what your parents do for a living. 20. Because they were helping to save lives, and that is pretty incredible. Source
Exactly! And everybody just knows that you're going to study medicine. Even though you chose to do it, not your parents.
A real DOCTOR, who use to take care of a patient not only by the medicines but by everything( here I mean the precautionary measures and psychologically handling the patient) should always be respected by the society including his/her kids. It is a tough work and need to devote oneself. Only those kids who are not aware of this noble profession or they are just selfish and need not to think why their parents who are doctors and are busy with their devoted work. People use to think here in INDIA that Doctors are next to the God and they pay their utmost respect to them. But in my own opinion(I am shameful to say that) today there are only a few real Doctors are living around you rest are busy to earn money by hook or crook.
Nice information, some propel re born as doctor, some develop the attitude and so re force to study medicine. And dome ve love in medicine
That is really a great article. Actually at my school times, when I pretended to be sick, my mom believed me. I think she knew I was faking it, but she would let me skip PE classes and wrote me a note anyway. She's really cool.
