    The Doctor Who Always Get-Along

You’ll find this doctor frequently greeted by staffs with smiles on their faces. He often orders food for everyone, particularly after a very toxic shift. He likes asking how the patients are as much as he’s fond of asking how everyone’s day has been. He is seldom in a bad mood which makes work a lot easier.

“Doctors who know how to crack a good joke are technically easy to accompany. It means that they are very approachable and sees you as a valuable part of the team,” a veteran ward nurse said.

    The Patient-Oriented Doctor

Patients know when doctors really do care for them. You’d often find them asking when this doctor is going to be on deck or when he’s seeing them.

Patients love doctors who make them feel valuable and cared for.
Patient-oriented doctors are those physicians who always put their patients’ welfare first. They’d juggle their schedule just to make sure their patients’ needs stay as a top priority. They don’t like making patients wait.

Nurses like working with this type of doctor because they aren’t grumpy with late night texts and calls, even if it’s just to verify a patient’s diet. Aside from this convenience, patient-oriented doctors also lessen the chances of nurses having to deal with annoying patients.

    The Skilled Doctor

During an emergency, the last thing you’d probably want is to be with a doctor who fumbles with instruments and someone who is incompetent in giving out orders. Not only will it make the procedures slower, but it can also compromise your patient’s safety.

“I’ve worked with a doctor who literally went blank during one of our critical emergencies. I didn’t know if it was due to lack of proper sleep or he just didn’t know exactly what to do. It’s a good thing we were still able to revive the patient,” a 10-year ER nurse supervisor shared.

“SKILLED AND KNOWLEDGEABLE DOCTORS ARE GREAT TO WORK WITH BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU AND YOUR PATIENTS ARE IN GOOD HANDS.”

Skilled and knowledgeable doctors are great to work with because you know you and your patients are in good hands. However, as an advocate, you also have to be aware of what’s actually going on. Most of these doctors aren’t that good when it comes to being on the patient’s bedside. They also aren’t that completely open to suggestions. This makes it essential that you know when it’s time to stand up.

    The Teamwork Doctor

This type of doctor pays the same kind of respect to everyone in his team. He likes making patient care a collaborative effort.

Valuing each team member’s opinion can help make patient care more efficient.
Most of the time, nurses are just given the task to carry out doctor’s’ orders. However, with this doctor, he’ll make sure to get your opinion first, whether you are the nurse or the dietitian. Because of this, his team members feel valuable to the point that they resonate the same type of courtesy to him. A working environment like this makes it easier for everyone to work cohesively.
