The Mayo Clinic defines a Laryngospasm as “a brief spasm of the vocal cords that temporarily makes it difficult to speak or breathe,” so these singing doctors figured it would be the perfect band name! The Laryngospasms are a musical medical parody group of four certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA)s. While singing Neil Sedaka’s classic hit ‘Breaking Up Is Hard To Do’ at Minneapolis School of Anesthesia student Christmas party in 1990.
