    is it suitable for fat people to take the stairs? isnt it harmful for their knee joints?

    Shame on you guys! You cannot target specific areas to lose fat. You lose flab in the same order that you gain it by burning more calories than you consume. Watch what you eat--avoid sugars and glycemic carbs, and be as active as you can--exercize, take stairs, do things to raise your heart rate like brisk walking, bicycling.
