Living with a roommate or several isn’t always easy — both in real life and on TV — but there are some TV characters who would definitely be fun to live with and make excellent roommates for various reasons.

Here are some TV characters who’d make awesome roommates.

    1. J.D. and Turk, “Scrubs.” It may not get any better than living with this dynamic duo as you’ll be able to see their bromance and “guy love” up close. Your apartment will definitely boast a pancake drawer (which silverware should not be placed in) and of course, beloved stuffed dead labrador Rowdy — a pet you don’t even need to feed!

Being roomies with Turk and J.D. and becoming part of their friendship also means you’d better get ready to “EEEAAAGGGLLLEEE!” and be the bottom third of the world’s most giant doctor.

    2. Meredith Grey, “Grey’s Anatomy.” While she may have three kids now in the 12th season of “Grey’s,” Meredith is just the kind of roommate a girl needs. Even though she’s a mom, you know she’d be down for a night of drinking tequila and talking about guys, and you can count on her to turn up the music to dance it out when life gets you down. Plus, since she has a habit of taking in “strays,” you’d soon find yourself with a close group of friends-turned-family.

    3. Monica and Rachel, “Friends.” Besides having a totally awesome apartment, being roomies with Monica and Rachel would come with other perks. Living with Monica means free yummy food at the ready and a guarantee that the apartment will always be clean and organized. Living with Rachel means having a closetful of awesome clothes in the apartment to borrow from and someone to blame if Monica notices that anything’s out of place.

    4. Chandler and Joey, “Friends.” While living with Monica and Rachel has its perks, you may get even more living across the hall with Joey and Chandler as roomies. Firstly, you still get the benefit of Monica’s cooking, but you can get your very own recliner and a front row seat to Joey and Chandler’s antics. Could there be any better roommates and friends?

    5. Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, “Gilmore Girls.” You may not eat any food besides takeout if you’re roomies with this mom and daughter but who cares when you can go to Luke’s for coffee and get Sookie to make all sorts of yummy stuff for you to eat at the inn? Plus, if you live with Rory and Lorelai long enough, it’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll start speaking in fast-paced and witty dialogue and have great hair.

    6. Ron Swanson, “Parks and Recreation.” For introverts (and “Parks and Rec”-lovers), Ron Swanson would be a hell of a roommate. He may not talk much but when he does, he’s worth listening to as it’s to say something profound that will ultimately make your life better. You’ll also learn to be more self-sufficient as there’s no doubt he’ll teach his roommate to carve and paddle their own canoe as well as how to shoot and live off the grid.

    7. Matt Murdock/Daredevil, “Marvel’s Daredevil.” Living with Daredevil would be far from a hardship since he’s pretty easy on the eyes. But beyond that, you’d never have to worry about forgetting your clothes or towel when you get out of the shower since you could just run to your room and not worry about Daredevil sneaking a peek. Plus, you could sleep like a baby every night and not worry about crime or anything else happening since Daredevil’s a serious badass and would protect you. Also, free legal advice.

    8. Kimmy and Titus, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” Being roomies with Kimmy and Titus in their small basement apartment may not be the most comfortable and luxurious place to live but getting to be around them all the time would make it worth it. You’d get to soak in Kimmy’s enthusiastic and unbreakable spirit and aura and get to hear Titus sing songs like “Peeno Noir” live. And, your landlord would be the street-wise and eccentric Lillian, which is an added bonus.

Sadly, we can’t actually have any these TV characters as real roommates — but we can dream!
