Medscape surveyed physicians to find out the how they communicate with patients outside of the office. Here are four notes: 1. The majority of physicians, 93 percent, prefer to use the phone to communicate with patients outside of the office. 2. Thirty-four percent of physicians choose to use email while 8 percent text to communicate with patients. 3. Only 2 percent of physicians communicate with patients outside of the office using video conferencing. 4. Twice as many self employed physicians, 13 percent, text with patients compared to employed physicians, 6 percent. Source
