It is true that you would do anything for love and it has made people achieve great things.

However, when the situation is critical or urgent, there are many things that we fall short of.

This Korean War Veteran is proving the world that will stand between him and his wife, not even a 12-mile walk down the highway.

Luther Younger, 98, from New York, was picked up on Interstate 390 on August 28 as he was making his regular 12-mile walk to visit his cancer-stricken wife, Waverlee, in the hospital.

Waverlee was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009. Today, her body is completely paralyzed. But not even a long walk beside a busy road is keeping her lover from paying regular visits.

Younger was picked up by a guy named Dan Bookhard, who couldn’t let the elderly walk the interstate without any assistant.

Dan had just left the airport and was on the road when he saw Younger walking alongside I-390.

Dan said that one could call it his upbringing, but he could not see an elderly struggling alone or someone struggling in the rain. He just stops there, picks them up, and just drives to their destination.

Younger explained why he makes his daily long trips. He said that he is nothing without his wife Waverlee. It has been rough but they both are fighting for it.

Younger’s daughter, Lutheta Younger, has offered her dad lift to the Strong Memorial Hospital if he could wait until she is available to do so.

Waverlee has been admitted to the hospital for the past two weeks. Lutheta said that her dad loves to walk and he insists that walking keeps him alive.

He doesn’t have the patience to wait for his daughter to come and take him to the hospital.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by Lutheta to help with her mother’s medical bills and provide transportation towards her father’s transportation.

Waverlee is living on the edge. She was given merely five years when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. That was nine years ago.
