A new report shows female doctors earn an average of $20,000 less than menby Circa News According to a report released by physician social network site Doximity, female doctors in the U.S. earn an average of $20,000 less than their male counterparts. The smallest gender wage gap between male and female doctors was found in the Sacramento, California, metro area, where female doctors make an average of 19 percent less than males. The largest gender wage gap was found in Charlotte, North Carolina, where female doctors make 33 percent less than males. The report's findings were determined largely by analyzing the responses of more than 36,000 licensed doctors who are a part of the social network. While trying to understand how doctors were compensated, the report took into account the deeply regional nature of different health care markets. Source
