Artists across the U.S. are using their talents to spread joy and honor those working on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Vibrant murals of health care workers donning angel wings and boxing gloves are popping up on walls in Denver. Artist Austin Zucchini-Fowler tells WebMD that his friends and family in the medical field inspired him to paint the tributes and that he plans to paint several more. “I wanted to show my gratitude to their challenges and fight at this time,” he says. In Albuquerque, NM, several artists teamed up to paint a mural thanking essential workers, including truck drivers, grocery store employees, and doctors, among others. And another artist is reminding people to stay positive with his mural in Virginia Beach, VA. Sam Welty quotes the late Fred Rogers of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood in his masterpiece, saying, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” Source
