Can blood from patients of Porphyric cutanea tarda be used for transfusion ?

    One of the principle Mx for patients with porphyria cut tarda is frequent phlebotomy since they also run a risk of hemochromatosis. I was wondering if that blood can be used to tranfuse other patients..becos there is nothing wrong with the Hb per se and the porphyrins will get diluted in the recipients blood and may not cause any harm.
