A 54 year old man visited his physician for a regular checkup. He has a long history of type 2 diabetes, well controlled with oral therapy. He is compliant with his treatment and regular physical checkups. His last checkup 6 months ago was completely normal for physical and laboratory examination. He smokes one pack of cigarettes for 20 years and drink one cup of wine daily.
On physical examination, his vital signs are within normal limits. His laboratory tests are as follows:
    Fasting blood glucose 80
    HgA1C 6.9
    Cholesterol HDL 50 mg/dL
    Cholesterol LDL 110 mg/dL.
What is the appropriate goal for LDL cholesterol for this patient?
    A- 70 mg/dL
    B- 100 mg/dL
    C- 130 mg/dL
    D- 160 mg/dL
