Brittany had the worst part of her life when she was 12 years of age. During this time, her dad and brother were involved in a tragic accident that saw her dad become a quadriplegic, while her brother lost his life on the spot.

Her father, Paul, was a pretty good dancer before passing away. He used to be the one who opens the dance floor during wedding ceremonies. But since he was disabled, he had to quit, and the hopes he had since childhood to dance with her daughter at her wedding, were doomed.

Brittany revealed to her dad how she wished to find a way to dance with him despite the disability he had. Paul thought of it, and really felt like he needed to dance on that day. Father and daughter contacted a dancing coach of people in wheelchairs and off they started practicing for the big day.

Finally Paul was able to step on the dance floor after a duration of 17 years, and dance to the song of Lee Ann Womack “I Hope You Dance”

Later, Brittany started Able Thrive, an organization which doesn’t aim to making profits but to share matters of how disabled people can live well. She said that formerly her dad never wanted to dance, but since she managed to do it, they all wanted everybody to be aware that anyone in a wheelchair can surely share the wonderful times with their beloved ones.
