If a biopsy test came back negative why would they want to operate? My sister inlaw recently detected a small lump in her breast. The doctors did a biopsy and the tests showed that it is not cancerous. However they are still advising that she undergoes surgery to remove the lump to do further tests "just to make sure". Is this really necessary?
