Hey there, I’m a 3rd year medical student at Riga Stradiņš University. I’ve been contemplating participating in Erasmus Exchange Program lately. Since I possess a fairly good knowledge of Spanish, I imagine my destination would be somewhere in Spain.

The list of universities offered by my Alma mater in Spain are:

    Universidad La Laguna
    Universidad de Oviedo
    Universidad de Malaga
    Universidad Miguel Hernandez de Elche
    Universidad Complutense de Madrid

To set it straight - I do not view this as an opportunity just to relax and party around all the time, education is definitely my top priority and I’d like to make the most of this experience.

I’d be grateful if someone could express his or her honest opinion on some of these questions:

Which one would you choose and why?

Which one is the best or offers the most for a foreign student (for example, in the field of research, quality in education, etc.)?

What are the pros and cons of some of these universities/cities/associated hospitals?

Any experience/stories/rumors you would like to share?

Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide.
