    Hamad Medical Corporation
    (HMC) is the largest governmental healthcare institution providing healthcare services to the community of Qatar. HMC is the first healthcare system in the region to achieve prestigious institutional accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International (ACGME-I) (www.acgme-i.org). To date, fourteen (14) of HMC’s residency training programs have successfully achieved ACGME-I program accreditation. HMC sponsors more than twenty (20) Residency Programs and many fellowship programs. In addition, HMC is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Center. HMC is also a member of Qatar’s Academic Health System, with a tripartite mission to advance clinical care through teaching, education, and research, and is a primary affiliate of two medical schools in Qatar: Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar and the College of Medicine at Qatar University.

    HMC’s Medical Education Department is pleased to announce that the Residency Programs Matching intake for the Academic Year 2017-18 is now open and will accept applications between September 25, 2016 and November 30, 2016. This intake is for residents seeking to join HMC starting July 2017.

    Only applicants who graduated from medical schools between 2012 and 2017 (inclusive) will be considered. Applicants should have successfully completed their internship training after graduation and should be clinically current.

    Graduates of the years 2012 to 2015 (inclusive) must provide a copy of their Medical License from the country where they are currently training.

    Please review the Frequently Asked Questions and Appendix (A) “General Guidelines on Completing the Application” before completing your application.

    Please observe the following general rules:
    • Applicants must satisfy the enrolment requirements to be eligible for the HMC Residency Programs Matching process
    • Applicants must submit COMPUTER-TYPED Applications.
    • Applicants MUST have passed the:
      o USMLE Step 2CK or
      o IFOM-CSE or
      o MCCCE and MCCQE Part 1 exams (see FAQs Question 5)

      and

      o the English Language Competency Exam (TOEFL [professional level] or IELTS [academic level])
    • Please note that only COMPLETE APPLICATIONS with all required examination results and supporting official documents will be accepted and reviewed.
    Applicants must read the FAQs carefully before completing the application.

    PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MEDICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT WILL NOT ACCEPT APPLICATIONS UNDER THESE CONDITIONS:
    • Incomplete Applications
    • Handwritten Applications
    • Applications sent by Fax or E-mail
    • Application sent without copies of supporting official documents
    • Applications sent without the required examination results
    • Applications submitted after the deadline (November 30, 2016)
    Applicants must provide copies of official documents/evidence to support all personal data provided in the application form.
