Tight and on trend. Like it or not, skinny jeans are here to stay. But some doctors are now cautioning patients that wearing tight jeans comes with a risk: nerve damage. That nerve damage can cause a condition called meralgia paresthetica, a chronic neurological disorder affecting the thigh. It affects a small nerve that runs in the hip region down the leg, it's just a sensory nerve so if it's damaged, it can result in numbness, tingling, in the front and side of the thigh. It could also result in pain, or worse, permanent nerve damage. People who have conditions that make their nerves a little more vulnerable, like diabetes, may have higher risk of developing the condition. Source
