Doctors and dentists top the pile for females, whereas men are most likely to be on the lookout for a teacher. For men, the appeal of secretaries is still strong, as they make number three on the list. Over 90 professions are listed for match members to choose from when completing their profiles. As well as the more conventional choices, match’s analysis showed that British women have a soft spot for floppy haired rocker, as 3% of female members would like a male partner in the music industry. However, they are least likely to be attracted to a male florist (0.02%). Four percent of males said they were interested in dating someone who works in financial services, but surprisingly, men are almost as interested in dating a model (1.95%) as they are with a woman who works in construction (1.91%). Your partner’s job is always going to be of significance; it will dictate what you talk about, how much time you spend together, how much money you have to spend on dates. “It’s great to see some traditional stereotypes being broken down, and some also upheld – we’re always going to be attracted to doctors, there’s something about saving lives that you can’t say no to!” Notes to editors: To conduct the study, match.com analysed data from all of its current UK members.
