Doctors and dentists top the pile for females, whereas men are most likely to be on the lookout for a teacher. The findings also show that women have a soft spot for a geeky guy, with those working as technicians or engineers ranking in the top five most wanted professions. By contrast, firemen appear to have lost their spark, with just 0.2% of females listing this as a profession they’d like to date. For men, the appeal of secretaries is still strong, as they make number three on the list. Over 90 professions are listed for match members to choose from when completing their profiles. As well as the more conventional choices, match’s analysis showed that British women have a soft spot for floppy haired rocker, as 3% of female members would like a male partner in the music industry. However, they are least likely to be attracted to a male florist (0.02%). Four percent of males said they were interested in dating someone who works in financial services, but surprisingly, men are almost as interested in dating a model (1.95%) as they are with a woman who works in construction (1.91%). However, the research showed it’s not looking so good for beauticians, with just 0.1 % of men looking for a partner in this line of work. The top 10 professions that women look for in a man: 1.
