Honestly, you can’t work while depressed.

Your concentration is gone, your memory is not reliable, and you feel stupid.

The worse of it is having others telling you to “snap out of it” as if you were some lazy bum.

    Which you are not.

    You are sick.

So sleep as much as you have to. Because when depressed, it helps.

Don’t pay attention to those who berate and minimize your disease. They actually don’t believe you.

For real: they nod, and may say nice things, but if they never had it, they don’t think it's as bad as it is.

    It is Bad.

Follow the SSRI/SNRI trail, until you find the meds that work. It may take time, but you must be the one that takes charge.

You need to make yourself better.

The ONLY work a depressed person MUST do, is to seek help. Acknowledge you are sick, and don’t give up when facing doctors who don’t know and meds that don’t work.

Doctors tend to freak out at mental issues… They don’t want to go there. They would rather you go away than cure you.

Find a doctor that actually cares about helping people. That became a doctor to heal people instead of for the money and the social status.

They exist. Just like medication that makes you better. It also exists.

But be patient with yourself, and patient with others. The more you feel alone, the worse it’s going to get.

So WORK on healing yourself first. Whatever works for you to make you stop suffering.
