In the first part of the article the errors in clinical, pharmacological and analytical issues in the Cochrane meta-analysis CD003177 are analyzed. Material and methods. Expert and computer evaluation of CD003177 meta-analysis text was made. Results. Revealed the conflict of interests of the publication CD003177 authors and the obvious bias of the authors' attitude to the problem of omega-3 PUFA use for cardiovascular prevention, the concealment by the authors of the methodology of meta-analysis and actually processed data, the highest clinical heterogeneity of studies included in the meta-analysis, unprecedented confusion in the pharmacology and biochemistry of omega-3 PUFA, the widespread use of manipulative formulations, deliberately hiding scientific facts, as well as the use of inadequate criteria of homogeneity/heterogeneity of clinical studies. Conclusion. Publication CD003177 placed in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, contains numerous errors associated with the collection and analysis of data and decreases the prestige of meta-analysis, and consequently the evidence-based medicine.
