Our bodies are quite incredible. In this video, a young girl, aged seven, is seen to be smiling and giggling as her heart pumps out of her chest, covered only by a thin layer of skin. This rare condition is called Pentalogy of Cantrell, and its most extreme form is when the heart is partially or completely displaced in the chest. Although the prognosis for this condition is usually very poor, with few children living past the first few days of birth, some extraordinary cases like this show just how amazing our bodies are.
