What Is The Best Country To Practice Medicine In For You? By the time I will complete my medical studies,I want to go and do my residency somewhere in Europe and until now my options would be Germany or Sweden but I have some enquiries: -how is an expat resident seen in the hospital there by the attending doctors and patients? -how well does one have to know the language when arriving there? -what are the most important stuff to follow when discussing about the contract with a hospital? Also how is the residency system in these countries and others across Europe?
I think you can find opportunities in Germany , but you should pass language exams also salary is not Wow like USA for example.
In Portugal, first you should get the medical school certification at The medical association/board, and language exam. Then you must take a seriation ezamination (mostly internal medicine) which will position you to choose The residency and hospital. This choosing process usually takes place in december. Residencies start in January and no contract negotiation is needed, as residents have all The same schedule (40h per week) and salary (around 1500€ after tax). Good luck
Can you plz tell us about specializing and residency in Germany! requirements? language? salary? thanks
in Germany are they some entering exams without the language? also i am a student in Republic of Moldova is my license compatible with studying there?
In Germany there is no residency exam like the one in Romania and for that reason in order to get a job contract there, you need to have proof of some knowledge in german language and a CV, as the job you look for is given to you based on an interview. For more info you should get in contact with recruitment companies, at least for a better understanding of the whole process.
And as far as I know a licence in medicine obtained in the Republic of Moldova is not recognized in the EU since Moldova is not a member of the EU. You can finish your studies in Romania or another country that is a member and thus, the dipoloma recognition problem is over.
As far as I know, you apply for the residence as if it was a job. There is a big lack of doctors, so to get in you don't have to pass any exam, it is all up to your curriculum and the interviews with the Hospitals. The language is something you have to dominate of course. The exam takes place in the end I think, you do the specializing and then take the exam. Hope it was useful.
They demand B2 but of coarse if you are not able to communicate with patients in german... you are going to be fired. Unless you apply for a research project where you don't do clinical skills. If you are going to do clinical skills you HAVE to be able to speak fluently the language of the country. It's obvious, isn't it? How can you diagnose a patient without understanding what he says? Consider that the majority of the patients are old and the old patients don't speak english at all. For Switzerland if you are not from Germany or from austria you have to pass an exam unless as always you apply for a research PhD
