    it is bilateral! so no thrombosis
    It is called: idiopathic lymphedema.

    I think it should some kind of lymphatic disorder if the anamnesis from childhood. (genetical or congenital)

    The cause of missing lower limb part is also could be the source of the problem (pelvical trauma, tumor excision with lymphadenectomy).
    First check to pelvical tumor).
    Elenphantiasis should be the first diagnosis if we have Africaan travel(s) in the anamnesis.
