Stop Eating Blackened Toast As It Can Cause Cancer, Says Food Study By UK

    With our life running at a fast pace, we find it difficult to give quality time to cook a nutritious meal for ourselves. The stressful lifestyle make us the victims and we become deprived of healthy as well as nutritious diet. At times we try to eat breakfast which is of low fat and high nutrients but in a hurry, we even forget that this breakfast is all the more deadly for our health. For example, toast, which we mostly eat thinking that it is light and good for health, can also cause more harm than causing benefit if it is charred. Before consuming toast, we should first check if it is rightly browned, lightly browned or has a piece of charcoal in it. Most of the times, we gobble everything whatever we get with butter before we leave for work.

    However, a recent research has shown that toasts do cause cancer. Recently, UK also issued a warning as well as suggestion to abide by gold standard to fulfil your daily meal requirements.

    1. The new food campaign launched by the UK
    According to the new dietary campaign launched by Food standard agency (FSA), cooks across the world should follow the Go for Gold campaign which focusses around the starchy food. It makes people aware of acrylamide which is a carcinogen found in bread as well as in potatoes. When heated at a high heat, this carcinogen becomes deadly and releases brown color.

    2. How it causes cancer
    Acrylamide converts into another chemical, glyucamide, after being digested. It then binds to your DNA triggeringcell mutation which is known to be the first step of cancer. A latest research on animals showed that acrylamide exposure triggers cancer risk even in humans.

    3. Hence, the humans should go for light golden potatoes and toast and not the black one.
    The FSA has given a call to all cooks and chefs to serve potatoes and breads with lift brown colour and hence the campaign has been named as go for gold. Also you should reduce the quantity of starchy potatoes and bread to prevent the acrylamide exposure.

    4. Try avoiding the processed food consumption also.
    The Go for gold campaign is launched against the processed food and has initiated an attempt to reduce the consumption of chips, crackers, cakes and coffee.

    5. We should go for Go For Gold as we know prevention is better than cure.
    Now when you are aware of the fact that toasts can cause cancer, you will remember it ever that you should eat toast which exists in light brown colour. Let’s try to generate awareness among masses by circulating this article.

    The more food is processed by heat the greater the risk of it being un-healthy and contain cancerous chemicals
