A majority of physicians believe patients' trust in healthcare professionals is diminishing, according to a recent SERMO survey. SERMO polled more than 2,000 physicians in its global social network on their perceptions of patient trust. Eighty-seven percent of U.S. physicians and 78 percent of global physicians said patients trust their physicians less than they did 10 years ago, according to a data set emailed to Becker's Hospital Review. A recent report from Kyruus found patients are also hesitant to trust online physician reviews. Of 1,000 patients surveyed, 49 percent of patients said they somewhat trust online reviews of providers written by other patients. Only 16 percent said they completely trusted the reviews. Source
