Vitamin D treatment can also be found useful in treating osteoporosis, cancer, chronic pain, depression, diabetes, neuromuscular diseases, high blood pressure, flu, and cardiovascular disease.

Dark skin absorbs less daylight, thus people with dark skin don’t get as much vitamin D from sun exposure as do light-skinned people absorb because white color absorbs more sunlight. This is often a selected drawback for Africans.

Vitamin D is produced by your own body itself however it is possible only when skin exposure to adequate daylight. Thirty minutes of sun exposure to the face, legs, or back without applying a sunscreen lotion for a minimum of twice every week is sufficient for your body to engulf vitamin D levels. Extreme exposure to sunlight may cause cancer of ultraviolet light radiation.

It’s nearly not possible to get an excessive amount of vitamin D from daylight or from healthy foods (unless you are taking way too much amount of cod liver oil). Probably all vitamin D overdoses come from using supplements.

Surprisingly only a few foods contain vitamin D. plus your body is made to get vitamin D through your skin instead of through your mouth.

Other healthy food sources of vitamin D include:
    • Cod liver oil (NOTE: cod liver oil is not to be taken in an excessive amount)
    • Milk or dairy product
    • Cheese
    • Beef or calf liver
    • Sardines kept in oil
    • Egg yolks
    • Tuna kept in water
People with excess weight need additional vitamin D than slim people.

An excessive amount of vitamin D will cause an abnormally high blood calcium level that might lead to kidney stones, constipation, and abnormal cardiac rhythm.

Vitamin D is one of all the four soluble vitamins i.e. A, D, E, and K. There are 2 sorts of vitamin D, D2, and D3. 700-1,000 IU per day of vitamin D3 is the best proportion for human’s health.

Nowadays, we have supplements for each vitamin available in the market. But such supplements are not the best solution for increasing Vitamin D levels. Even research said that a natural and environmental way to get Vitamin D is the better option for your health care. Take at least 60 min walk in a week under the sunlight.
