In 1983, a Japanese man with abdominal pain went to his local hospital, and was treated with a minor ulcer surgery. Despite the purportedly “corrective” procedure, the same man experienced similar abdominal pain…25 years later. Once again, the man sought out medical attention, but this time, his physicians proved more useful.
