Science continues to give us long sought-after answers to fundamental questions pretty much every other day, but there are still subjects that scientists aren't willing to commit to an answer on. AllTime10s collected 10 of these, starting off with the question of whether there's a God or not. Uh, okay. As ever when this issue is brought up as an example of where science is limited, we run into the problem of equating answers without any scientific justification with ones that do have a basis in established theory. It may very well be that, as stated in the video, we do not yet know what occurred prior to the Big Bang. We may not even know if it makes sense to talk about a "before" in that case. But that doesn't mean we can (scientifically) assume that a God is the answer to how the universe came into existence. On a personal level, it's fine to believe that, and many prominent people both in the science community and out do, but science has to follow the evidence. And a lack of evidence for any other theory should point to the fact that we don't know what happened prior to the Big Bang, not that we can therefore suppose that a divine creator was behind it. Perhaps the scientific question that should kick off this video should be "What happened before the Big Bang?" Still, I find that there's nothing more fun than debate about things that we genuinely don't know the answer to, and these 10 unanswered questions are great fodder for that kind of discussion.Have fun.
