Corpsing: Cutting edge ultra-real synthetic cadavers are being used by medical students
Look at these weirdly lifelike bodies and you might have a few nightmares later.

The creepy cadavers have been developed by a company called SynDaver who are working to make synthetic bodies as much like the real thing as possible for the medical industry.

Since surgery began, students have used dummies, models and, on some horrid and illegal occasions in the old days, the real thing to work out what does what where in the body.

Although it's now legal to use bodies for practice - as long as they're donated - there aren't enough to go round, and that's where the SynDaver comes in.

True blood: It not only has dilating pupils but it moves in a lifelike manner

It not only has dilating pupils and moves in a lifelike manner, the model which is 85 per cent water like us even feels real to the touch.

It's been called the 'most realistic surgical experience students can get without touching a corpse', according to Sick Chirpse.

Dr. Christopher Sakezles, founder of SynDaver, explains: "All other anatomical models on the market are made from plastic or rubber, while ours are made from a proprietary library of more than 100 synthetic human tissues.

"There is a full venous and arterial system too - with a chambered heart pumping blood - drainage flow on the venous side and a peristaltic on the arterial."

When they've been operated on and dissected by students, SynDaver will repair the £54,000 model to use again.
