This study was attempted to evaluate the effect of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in patients with severe aortic stenosis hospitalized with acute heart failure. Researchers assembled a consecutive cohort including a total of 1,547 patients with severe aortic stenosis undergoing TAVI, where the acute heart failure (AHF) status at admission was collected; patients were divided into AHF and elective TAVI groups. Early TAVI was defined as TAVI performed ≤ 60 hours after emergency room arrival in the AHF group. All-cause mortality at 30 days and 2 years after TAVI was the primary outcome. The results indicated that in patients with AHF, TAVI was correlated with worse short and long-term outcomes. Early TAVI did not significantly lower all-cause mortality at 30 days in the AHF setting; nevertheless, it exhibited a strong trend for lower all-cause mortality at 2-year.
