We come from the general population: There are all kinds of doctors: People with a music background. Engineers. Child molesters. Drug addicts. Jocks. Nerds. Child abusers. Autistic people. Children of doctors. Children of immigrants. Party animals. Players. Prudish virgins. Atheists. Creationists. People who have done porn. Basically, all kinds of people. The only link is that they are invariably intellectual masochists who can continue studying day after day, long after it’s become mind-numbing, over the course of many, many years. Source
