what is your medical diagnosis ?
mechanical bowel obstruction due to volvulus of the sigmoid colon .
can't see the classic cofee bean of sigmoid volvulus, and so i will keep Hirschsprung's as a possibility and a really advanced one, becos the entire colon seems to be super-dilated. the pelvis is not visible and so the classic "cut-off" sign is not seen. I guess the abdomen was so distended that it led to a shortage of real estate ( read - x ray plate was not large enough )
another possibility is necrotising enterocolitis.
this could be a case of Hirschsprung's complicated by necrotising enterocolitis.
Hirschsprung disease most likely
