    Have you ever wondered if your personality type has an effect on the type of people you choose to date? According to the Myers-Briggs personality type test, there are 16 distinct personality types consisting of 4 different traits. The traits can be extraversion (E), sensing (S), thinking (T), judgment (J), introversion (I), intuition (N), feeling (F), perception (P). So, for example, if you’re an ESFJ, you are extraversion, sensing, feeling and judgement. These combinations can reveal various aspects of your personality for you and be great indicators of the type of people you are compatible with.

    1) ISTJ – Person with a Purpose

    You are goal-oriented and know what you want and how to achieve it. When it comes to fights you approach frustration and confusion logically to resolve the problem. You want your relationship to be like your personal life – organized. You are also very loyal and expect the same from your partner. You’re reliable and not easily fazed or upset.

    2) ISFJ – The Peacekeeper

    You are also goal oriented and love order in your life, however you are also very conscientious of other people’s feelings. You nurture others and are a great listener. By nature, you avoid conflict and try to keep your relationship as harmonious as possible. When approached with conflict you tend to take everyone’s feelings into account . You have a great memory and remember little details about your significant other.

    3) INFJ – The Mom

    You have firm values and loyalty that you would not give up for anything. Not only are you protective of your partner but you also take their feelings into account . You seek out long-term relationships however find it hard to leave toxic ones. You tend to be a little reserved and need the right person to open up to. You will make a great parent one day.

    4) INTP – The Student

    You value intellect and place it above all else. You have difficulty expressing your emotions in relationships and have trouble forming intimate connections. You have high expectations for not only yourself but others as well. You are creative and resolve conflicts easily but aren’t as receptive to other people’s emotional needs.

    5) ISTP – The engineer

    You love knowing how things work and why they work. Cause and effect excites you! You are naturally good at sports and resolve conflicts by going through all the things that are going wrong. You need excitement in your life and sometimes struggle to find space in a relationship.

    6) ISFP – The Painter

    You appreciate the beauty in the world and believe in the motto: live and let live. You do not find the need to have control in your life and can sometimes come off as lazy. However, you are very receptive of other people’s needs and a great listener. You are sometimes very harsh on yourself and overly cynical.

    7) INFP – The Writer

    You are idealistic and have firm values that you want implemented in the world. You are better at expressing emotions on paper and most likely have a daily journal where you find emotional release. You need a lot of time alone and are very encouraging and supportive.

    8) INTJ – The Scientist

    You value science and want to express your views in a way that others can understand. You are a perfectionist and welcome conflict. Sometimes, you can be insensitive and take things to heart very easily. You may have some issues controlling anger and expressing your most protected emotions.

    9) ESTP – The Adventurer

    You love to get out and just do. You seek adventure, and are charming and witty. People are naturally drawn to your energy, and you love to keep your relationship fresh and spontaneous. However, because of your spontaneous nature, you often do not seek long-term relationships and sometimes mis-understand other people’s feelings.

    You are amazing in social situations and are highly supportive. You often put the needs of others before yourself. Basically, you give and give until there’s nothing left to give. You tend not to give yourself the time alone that you deserve. However, you are not very comfortable with change or conflict.

    16) ENTJ – The Leader

    You take charge and enjoy being in charge. You seek to pass on knowledge and experience to others. You are career driven and often lack the drive to seek a relationship. You are sometimes argumentative and seek order and organization.
