Incisional Hernia through anterior abdominal wall. comments - the skin incision per se is not stretched, so i guess the deeper layers have given way and the hernia seems to have dissected through the layers of the abdominal musculature. Hard to fix this....i will comment later on how it can be fixed and also with reference to trauma surgery, where the abdomen needs to be left open for long periods following increased increased intra abdominal pressure.
