Contradictory Behaviour of Oncologist during Screening

    1) On being told smoking history, family health history, recent tests reports, and personal health history; and after carrying out some palpitation, the oncologist said no need for oncomarker test (never before carried out by me but I learnt about this type of test recently).
    2) But says quit smoking immediately.
    3) If three and a half years of smoking does not make me eligible for an oncomarker test, then why is she telling me not to extend it to three and a half years plus one day of smoking?

    okay let me clarify it is not palpitation but palpation
