    Correct answer:

    Exostoses, or Surfer’s ear.

    Exostoses are benign growths of bone and are almost always the cause of irritation by cold water. It practically never needs intervention, although it can cause recurrent otits externa due to detritus accumulation between the tympanic membrane and the exostoses. Then the growths can be removed surgically.
