In 2010, Eric was a highly obese man who weighed 340 pounds. His weight caused him numerous health problems. He was diagnosed with Type-II diabetes, high blood sugar, and incredibly high blood pressure. In fact, doctors didn’t give him much time to live. They expected his body to break down as a result of his obesity.

Despite this harsh reality, Eric wasn’t fazed and wasn’t motivated to change his lifestyle and eating habits. But everything changed when he boarded a flight. His flight was delayed because the flight attendant could not find a seat belt extension to fit him on the plane. This was a shocking experience that left a scar. Eric knew he had to change his life.

Once he returned home, he immediately contacted a nutritionist in a desperate attempt to turn his life around. She gave him a piece of unusual advice. While she did help him correct his diet, she also encouraged him to go to a local shelter and adopt a dog. A dog would force Eric to be active, and Eric followed her instructions.

But even he could not have expected things to work out this well..

Eric adopted a middle-aged dog at the shelter that was obese like himself. Together, the two embarked an incredible road to recovery, and their lives changed forever.
