How long is studying Medicine in your country ?!

I want to discuss with you this topic "How long is studying Medicine in your country ?!"

In Egypt :

3 Years for Basic Medicine
3 Years for Clinical Medicine
Then 12 month full time internship
Then you are General Practitioner for 1 years before residency

I know the system is different in each country, certainly medical school is hard everywhere but its length changes according to the country, and this is why i wish if you can share some info about medical education system in your country, i believe with more than 50 million visitors to this website who are doctors and medical students we will make an interesting comparison between all countries through the comments section.

It takes about 6 years as well, 3 years basic medicine and 3 years of clinical medicine.

 

In Shanghai and studied in the Chinese system, it's 2.5 yrs basic med , 2.5yrs clinical. We are under a lot of pressure with the work load + exam. Those studying in "English medium" in China aren't that good...

 

I am from Albania.
You study 6 years General medicine here.and then you can take the specialty wich is about 12 months.

 

in Iran medical programs are undergraduage programs.
2.5 ys of basic sciences.
3 ys of clinical sciences.
1.5 ys of internship.
so it needs you to spend 7 ys after high school to become a GP.

To graduate with the title Mudr. (M.D.) takes six years. Three of them are about basic madical subjects (axis anatomy - physiology - pathology) and than three in the hospital. After that you choose your specialization and you train from three up to eight years to have been approved. But after- graduating programmes change all the time...

Hi iam in sudan we have 2 options for learning medicine in some univercities we stay 6 years and in other 5 years but most of them learn basic in 3years

 

Hello, im from Mexico, in my countries it depends of the school where you are member, for example in my school we take two years of basic medicine and two years of clinical medicine, with one year of medical practices or intership and 1 year to comunity services as a doctor.

 

Hi. In Colombia are 6.5 years: 11 semester and one year of "internado". Later, one year of rural work.
Total: 7.5 years.
