How long is studying Medicine in your country ?!

    I study in Mexico at the University of Quintana Roo. It takes 2 years of basic medicine and two years of clinical medicine also, 1 year of internship and 1 year of social service.

    I am from india
    Here under graduate medical degree programme is for 5.5 years.including 12 months full internship. Degree awarded by university will be bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery(MBBS).This is the basic course of medicine in our country.
    Course is divided into 3 phases. First Mbbs(1yr). , second mbbs(1.5yr), and final mbbs(2yrs) which includes part 1 and part 2(each part with a duration of 1 yr )..
    In first yr we study pre clinical subjects only .anatomy physiology nd biochemistry. In second phase we move on to para clinical subjects. Pathology microbiology pharmacology . Forensic medicine and also starting of clinical studies... final phase all the clinical subjects will be covered and after passing the exam 12 months full time internsh..ip

    I'm from Romania
    Here is 3 years of basic
    3 years of clinical
    Graduate...Then you have an exam for a speciality which can range from 3 to 7 years...but this is about to change...it will be 2 years of internship after graduate and then you can look for a speciality!

    Hello from sunny London, England :cool:

    Here the degree is 5 or 6 years depending on whether you intercalate a BSc or not:
    o 2 years pre-clin
    o (optional BSc year in a different subject eg., physiology, pharmacology, etc)
    o 3 years clinical

    Then you graduate and have the title "Dr." but you're not fully registered to practise yet. You must do a further 2 years internship first (called the Foundation Programme) & after that you start specialty training. 3 years specialty training to become a GP, most other specialties it's 5-7 years.
