In Ghana, you study pre med for 3years. Medicine for 4years, then you are considered for a 12 months housemanship.
Australia..... 3-4 years undergraduate degree, then 4 years basic medicine, then 12 month internship..... Basically about 12 years till you can call yourself a gp, almost. Longer if you want to specialise....
@Dominican Rep. It depends the University, usually 5 and a half to 6 years + 1yr internship + 1yr community service and THEN take an exam to participate in the contest to enter a residency. Your winning possibilities based on your GPA, exam results and luck.

Hi, in Ethiopia it is 2.5 years of pre clinical and 2.5 clinical years and 1 year of interniship. U wil then work 2-4 yrs as a GP depending on the place u selected nd then u can start residency.
Hi I'm from Taiwan. 2 years of university elective courses 2 years of basic medicine 2 years of clerkship 1 year of intership Med school graduation. Then 1 more year of post graduation year 1 (PGY1) before residency. That was before, they changed the policy now though, something like : 6 years of med school 2 years of Post graduation year (1 &2) before residency
