Hey guys! 7 years in Sweden! 5.5 years at the university. We have intergrated studies although the first 2 years are still mainly theoretical basics and the last 3.5 being more advanced and at the hospital... and then 1.5 years of practice before getting the license! Hi there, I am from India...but studying in Georgia. Here medical course is about 6 yrs. 2.5 yrs Basic science 2.5 yrs Clinical science 1 yr Clinical clerkship(Internship) Special about this internship program is that either you complete your intern program here in Georgia or you can complete your intern program from your country by giving your country's national exam of medical. For example- MCI Screening Test or FMGE in india. One more special about university here is that its syllabus is based on USMLE (UNITED STATES MEDICAL LICENSING EXAMINATION). Don't know much about other universities but David Tvildian Medical University follows this american syllabus. I am student of this university.

oh there... is clerkship and internship considered same in georgia? in philippines there is a compulsory clerkship of one year... later same as you said we will be given an option to do internship in india after MCI

se Seriously?? In my country for MBBS it takes 5years and one year internship to be a GP. And another 5year to be a specialist in medicine (MD). to be a cardiologist or neurologist it takes about 8years after completing MBBS
In Italy: 6 years with the first 3 years of pre-clinical studies and the last 3 of clinical studies. 3 months of internship After the degree you could choice two way: 1) 3 years to become a GP 2) Take a specialization: 4 years for the clinical specializations; 5 years for Internal Medicine and the surgery specalizations; 6 years for general surgery Every of this step requires a National Test of Admission
In my country (Libya):- 1 year premedical 3 years pre-clinical 2 years clinical 1 year internship Where I study (North Cyprus or T.R.N.C), it's the same except there's no premedical year.
In Nigeria, it's 6 years in total at Medical school. In my University, a year for pre-med, two years for pre-clinicals and 3 years for clinicals.
