How long is studying Medicine in your country ?!

    Practicing medicine in:
    Malaysia
    Hi, i'm syuhada from Malaysia
    It takes 5 years
    2 years for basic clinical science
    3 years for clinical practice
    Then,housemanship for 2 years (4 month in each posting O&G,peads,ortho,medicine,surgery,A&E)
    Finally,we'll become a medical officer

    In Japan, a school of medicine or Faculty Of Medicine is 6 years program. And then 2 years junior residency program.

    Russian Federation
    Russia :) 6 years for medical diploma, then an internship (1 year) or residency training (2years) are required to be able to practice.
    But soon they wanna change residency for up to 5 years - to make it closer to most european countries

    I think may be 2 years for basic medicine 3 years for clinical medicine.

    Hey I'm from Thailand. I study in Khon Kaen University, Northeastern THA. Here there is 6-year program.
    3 years for basic sciences
    3 for clinical sciences
    +1 for internship

    hi i"m from the philippines

    10 years

    = 4 years bachelor degree( Nusring, Medtech, pharmacy, etc that is related to science/para medical)
    = 4 years doctor of medicine (inc. clerkship)
    = 1 year rotational internship
    = then national board exam

    + 4-5 years for residency training to become especialist.( need to pass the especialty board exam)

    I am from Myanmar.
    3 years for basic medicine.
    In 3rd year together basic medicine and clinical medicine
    next 2 years for clinical medicine
    12 months for full time internship
    so total 6 years to become General Practitioner

    at here we have course MBBS of 4 and half year... then 1 year internship.. then entrance exam n course of postgraduation for 3 years

    Hello. I'm an Indonesian.
    in my country we learn almost 3 years for pre-clinical, means in college. and we spend about 2 years in clinical / hospital. and than we must join UKDI, such as indonesian doctor exam competence. and after pass the exam, we must join the internship in the villages about 1 or 2 years. :)

    appear that we are the same with some little differences I'm Egyptian you know from the post up 7 years like 3 G then 3 C then one internship , damn that it take long time .:mad::mad::mad:

    In Brazil, medicine is teached in "cycles" or "periods":
    - 2 years of Basic Cycle
    - 2 years of Clinical Cycle
    - 2 years of internship
    At this point, you are considered a general physician and you are legally able to clinic. If you wants to become a specialist, just add:
    -2-5 years of residency
