    Hi,

Is it possible to determine the most likely cause of a knee effusion of unknown cause based solely on its response to physiotherapy ? If the two possibilities are:
    1. A torn meniscus due to twisting the knee playing sport
    2. Psoriatic Arthritis
If the effusion decreases with physiotherapy/rest/icing does this make it more likely that a torn meniscus is the cause or can effusion due to PA also be effectively treated by rest/icing/physiotherapy ?

    Thanks,
