Hi Doctors' I am new on this forum , and I hope to find help & knowledge so , I need an answers for my question Q Is uric acid is secreted or reabsorped in PCT (proximal convoluted tubule) in the kidney ?? cause I read in some books that 50% of filtered urea is reabsorped passively from PCT and in another book that it is secreted by organic acid transport system > so drugs like (loop & thiazide Diuretics ) that are secreted from PCT by the same mechanism (organic acid transport system) compete with uric acid for the transport system -----> decrease secretion of urea ------> hyperurecaemia ???
