Answer : Cancrum oris aka Noma aka Gangrenous stomatis

Cancrum oris is a rapidly spreading, necrotic ulceration of the cheek, exposing the underlying bone, leading to a well-defined slough and a large defect in the cheek or lip. Soon bone and teeth sequestrate.

caused by : organisms of Vincent's stomatitis, namely Fusobacterium fusiforme and Borrelia vincenti.

Common in : Africa, Asia and S. America, predominantly in malnourished children

Predisposing factor : commonest is Measles, but gastroenteritis, typhoid, bronchopneumonia and kala azar may act as antecedents.
