It is use to make an efficient lateral traction of the abdomen or pelvis, once it is open, without the help of an assistant , the vissibility is better, and it helps a lot if the patient is obesse!!

What we do is put in warm, damp 45/45 packs to protect bowel and surrounding organs. We have different names for some of the instruments mentioned.
