    9 - Tiny Miracle…

This baby girl was born at just 8 ounces or 229 grams over in Germany, and her feet were said to the size of a fingernail. Emily Grabarczyk has been described as the “world’s smallest surviving premature baby”. It’s common for babies born severely prematurely to have learning difficulties, possible disabilities and complications… yes 9 months down the line, there are no signs of anything serious.

    8 - Surviving the odds…

This baby girl was still inside her mother’s womb when she was also the victim of a bomb blast. Shrapnell hit the pregnant woman, and actually pierced right through her into her unborn baby. Medics on the scene in Syria performed an emergency C-Section and medics worked quickly to revive the little girl. After a few minutes, the baby makes its first sounds and the doctors remove the debris implanted in her tiny head. The amazing news is that both mom and baby are just fine.

    7 - From sadness comes happiness…

At just 22 years old, Karla Perez suffered a brain bleed and went into a coma which she never came out from. Karla was 22-weeks pregnant at the time, and her baby was too little to survive outside the womb. She was kept alive by machines for 54 days, when she deteriorated quickly. Doctors removed the baby at 2-pounds 14 ounces, and after nearly 2 months in ICU, was able to go home with his grandparents. There have only been 33 cases of women being kept alive to deliver their babies.

    6 - Miracles Happen…

You can imagine the devastation upon hearing that one of your babies didn’t make it. That’s what happened to Kate and David Ogg, whose times were at 26 weeks, just 2 minutes apart. The baby boy had stopped breathing. After 20 minutes, doctors stopped working on baby Jamie. The mum begged doctors to let her hold the dying baby, and her husband crawled into the hospital bed with her. The dad took his shirt off, and both gave the baby skin to skin contact, and then a miracle happened. The baby started coming back to life, and started breathing again. Jamie, and his twin sister are now 5 years old – and are doing great!

    5 - Little survivor…

A Manhattan lawyer jumped off an 8th story building in March of 2013, with her 10-month old strapped to her chest. The mom died on impact, but miraculously the little baby survived with just a little scratch. The baby was strapped to his mom in a harness, and he just bounced off his mom when she hit the ground, and then rolled off her. A neighbour was what happened, and rescued the tiny baby.

    4 - Affairs of the heart…

Noah Clarey was born with a heart the size of a thumbnail. His mum, Helen, had her waters break at 22-weeks. Doctors told her she would go into labour within 48 hours. With the help of steroids, she held up for another month before delivering baby Noah. The put Noah into a sandwich bag to keep him warm, and at 5 -weeks old doctors had to perform surgery on his heart to close a duct. This was extra difficult because of Noah’s tiny heart. Noah is 2.5 years old now, and just fine.

    3 - The bigger the better…

At 15 pounds 7 ounces, George King is one of the largest babies to ever be born in the UK. And that’s not all that’s incredible, his mom – Jade Packer – delivered George naturally. The baby was given just a 10% shot at survival, and was trapped for 20 minutes during labour not breathing. Baby George left the hospital wearing clothes for 6- month old baby, and it may come as no surprise, his mom is not keen for more children.

    2 - A reason to smile…

Paisley Morrison-Johnson was born with a tongue the size of an adult. Had it not been for life-saving surgery, she could have choked to death. The condition is called Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome. This overgrowth disorder affects around 1 in 11 000 births. Doctors said that this little girls tongue was one of the largest they had ever seen. Paisley was tube fed up until 6-months, but now Paisley can start leading a normal life again, thanks to the life-saving operation.

    1 - Gone but not forgotten…

A baby in Romania was born with virtually no intestines. Baby Andrei surprised medical staff as he remained alive for about 9 months. There was hope that a complicated operation would take place by doctors from Boston, but that never materialized and although doctors in Romania did try to operate on him, he passed away 10 days after the op. Medical staff still are amazed that the boy survived for as long as he did though.
