    In Sweden it takes 5.5 years of med school and about 1.5 years of internship (and passing of a internship test) to earn your doctor title. After that you specialize which usually takes 5 years.

    Germany: 2 years theoretical sciences, 3 years Clinical, 1,5 years Internship (Practical Training) then you are a "Junior Doctor (Assistant Arzt)" with license to practice medicine" to be a GP you need an extra 3-5 years of specializing in Family Medicine. Can start your residency/specializing as soon as you graduate. Receive the DR.med Title officially only after you have done a researched based Medical "P.hD (Doktorarbeit)" which most do either before graduating or before specializing.

    Slovenia
    In Slovenia we have:
    - 6 years (3 preclinical, 3 clinical) of medical school;
    - than 0,5 year of internship (which should in my opinion last longer, it used to be 2 years);
    - after finished internship you have to pass exams to get your licence for medical practise;
    - than you have to specialise in one field (4-6+ years) if you want to work as a doctor (even for GP there is a 4-year residency of Family Medicine).

    More or less the same as everywhere else ... :)
